/r/News commenters wants vigilante justice

There was a thread recently in /r/News titled: "Black man shot dead while jogging in Georgia, and two months later, no arrests."  It linked to an NBC news story about the death of Ahmaud Arbery, who was shot after a confrontation with two white men.  The /r/News thread was pretty much what you expect, but I did notice this comment string near the top:
alloobaba: "Well instead of calling the cops, they chose vigilante justice. Only makes sense they meet the same fate." [135 upvotes]
pocket_geek: "I normally advise against vigilante justice, but in this case..." [63 upvotes]
Idontcommentorpost: "Right? When do we start chasing down and shooting racist fucks like these?" [5 upvotes]
Just seemed interesting.
