Buzzmag.live

Buzzmag.live is a website that copies-and-pastes articles, and then changes a few words in each paragraph.

Here's an article from October 14, 2020, titled "Cristiano Ronaldo Falls Victim To The Coronavirus."

Here's a Reuters article from October 13, 2020, titled "Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID-19"

Sample text from the Buzzmag.live article:

The 35-year-old forward is asymptomatic and is most likely to miss Wednesday’s UEFA Nations League game against Sweden as he self-isolates.

The federation added that the rest of the Portugal team had undergone tests as a result of Ronaldo testing positive, but they claimed that all tested negative and would be available for the Sweden match.
Sample text from the Reuters article:

The homepage and articles on Buzzmag.live contain AdSense ads.

Some users on Reddit are spamming the site, but I didn't notice any of them gaining much traction.  Here's user /u/Samanthabadra.  The WHOIS page for buzzmag.ive indicates the registrant is from Gampaha, Sri Lanka.

TheUnionJournal.com

TheUnionJournal.com is another site which plagiarizes content.

Here is an article from September 4th, 2020, with the byline Turan Gafarli, titled: "Amazon deletes 20,000 reviews after evidence of profits for posts."

The text is copied entirely from an FT.com article from September 4th, 2020, written by David Lee, titled: "Amazon deletes 20,000 reviews after evidence of profits for posts"

The Union Journal has a Twitter account with 1,987 followers and a Facebook page with 495 likes.  The Transparency section on the Facebook page lists the owner as Rottweiler Life(?) and it lists Egypt as the location of the three page managers.  A few posts from The Union Journal have done well on Reddit; a submission in /r/WorldNews linking to the story about Amazon reviews received over 63,000 upvotes.

The articles on TheUnionJournal.com display AdSense ads and contain internet chum.

As of October 2nd, the homepage of TheUnionJournal.com contains two additional outbound links:  One link leads to DigitalMarketNews.com.  Another leads to Reporter.am (The Armenian Reporter), which is listed as a "partner."  Both sites have a similar website layout at TheUnionJournal.

DailyAmericanBuzz.com

Here's another plagiarism website:  DailyAmericanBuzz.com

A few days ago it published an article titled "There's Only One Surviving Blockbuster Left on Planet Earth"
http://archive.is/zuPJO
The text was copied from a Gizmodo article from March 5, 2019, titled "There's Only One Surviving Blockbuster Left on Planet Earth"
https://gizmodo.com/theres-only-one-surviving-blockbuster-left-on-planet-ea-1833075071
I didn't see any ads on the DailyAmericanBuzz article, but there was this annoying "Mailchimp" pop-up:

When I tried clicking the "x", a new tab opened up.  The tab went to this URL...
https://deloplen.com/1/1407888/?var=2224709
Then it redirected here...
http://homepros.zone/service/flooring/index.html?traffic_source=pro&campaign=floor305&keyword=186960768124597127&group=2224709
After I'd closed the new tab, I was able to click the "x" and close the Mailchimp pop-up.

I wonder if that's a genuine Mailchimp pop-up?  It seems kind of strange that Mailchimp would have a feature that makes a new tab open in your browser when you trying clicking the "x."

There are a handful of Reddit accounts posting links to DailyAmericanBuzz.com:
https://www.reddit.com/user/ingeniousmind
https://www.reddit.com/user/debate2
https://www.reddit.com/user/stuffymind
You can tell something is "off" with these accounts.  They'll post a bunch of links to legitimate news sites like Reuters.com and TheGuardian.com and Today.com, but then they'll sneak in a submission to a URL such as DailyAmericanBuzz.com and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

RapidRationale.com

RapidRationale.com is another site that steals content.

Here is an article from a few days ago titled "Disney CEO Confirms X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool Are Now All Part of Marvel Studios"

https://web.archive.org/web/20190817011447/https://www.rapidrationale.com/2019/08/disney-ceo-confirms-x-men-fantastic.html

The text is copied from an MCUCosmic.com article:

https://mcucosmic.com/2019/08/06/disney-ceo-confirms-x-men-fantastic-four-and-deadpool-are-now-all-part-of-marvel-studios/

Oddly enough, I didn't see any ads on RapidRationale.com when I opened the article in an incognito window.  Although I did get a MailChimp pop-up saying "Subscribe to our mailing list."  That's unusual.

TheReporterToday.com

TheReporterToday.com is another site that plagiarizes content while displaying ads.

Here is a post from August 2 titled "Hiker scares off prowling cougar by blasting Metallica"

Here is the original article from August 1 from NBCRightNow.com, titled "Hiker scares off prowling cougar by blasting Metallica"

TheReporterToday copied the entire article and then included a hyperlink at the end saying "Click here to read entire article."  Except, like I said, TheReporterToday already pasted the entire article.  It's not like they only copied a blurb.

The ads are those "Ads by Amazon" boxes.

I saw a Reddit user named /u/PaulaRodriguesBarros sharing links to TheReporterToday:
https://www.reddit.com/user/PaulaRodriguesBarros/

Not very sophisticated overall.

KerlinksNews.com

Here's another random site with plagiarized content:  KerlinksNews.com.

KerlinksNews.com looks so fly-by-night that I can't even tell what the purpose of it is.  Maybe it's just somebody running an experiment.

There's a space for advertising which looks like it's showing an ad for Zox.  But I googled "Zox" and apparently Zox is just the name of the Wordpress theme.

Here's an archive of an article on KerlinksNews.com titled: "The Daily Telegraph Wants Audio Of The Geoffrey Rush Defamation Trial."

That article is clearly copied from a BuzzFeed article titled: "The Daily Telegraph Wants Tapes Of Geoffrey Rush's Defamation Trial To Prove The Judge Looked Biased"

I'll check back in a few months (years?) to see what becomes of KerlinksNews.com

BreakingUSA.us, MICHELLEa2 and SANDRAx1

There are two Reddit accounts spamming the site "BreakingUSA.us."

The accounts are /u/MICHELLEa2 and /u/SANDRAx1.

BreakingUSA.us is a political site that copies-and-pastes stories from other news outlets.  For example, an article on BreakingUSA.us titled "President Trump Has Had It With AG Sessions – Hits Him So Hard It Scared Him Stiff" was a copy of a Right Wing News article.   BreakingUSA.us also contains AdSense ads (ca-pub-5463543759997951).

MICHELLEa2 and SANDRAx1 have had some luck spamming their posts in /r/The_Donald, although none of their posts have actually broken 100 upvotes yet.

BreakingUSA.us has a Twitter account with 32 followers and a Facebook page with 51 likes.  The domain is registered to a "Awais Mughal" in Pakistan.

NYTiwes.com copy-and-paste job

NYTiwes.com is a fake news site, and it recently garnered attention by publishing a death hoax about singer Demi Lovato.  (LeadStories debunked the hoax here.)

NYTiwes.com also does this annoying thing where they copy-and-paste the entirety of a story from another news outlet, and then insert one line at the end acknowledging the source.  For instance, this post titled "Margot Robbie Joins Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron in Fox News Movie" copies the entirety of a Hollywood Reporter article.  At the bottom of the post it says: "Source: hollywoodreporter.com"

At least they're not taking credit for writing the story.
